Villerius, early inscription in red dated 1574 at Zurich on title-page of volumes 1, 3 and 5 (partly obscured); Camille Falconet of Lyon, inscription on each title-page; Lyon public library, stamp on each title-page

Camille Falconet (1671-1762), physician to Louis XV, amassed a library of about 50,000 volumes. He gave about 11,000 titles missing from the royal library to the king in 1742. The rest of his library was sold in Paris in 1763; while it contained many editions and commentaries on Galen, we have been unable to trace this particular edition in the sale catalogue.
