Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is deeper and richer in the original with the paper tone tending more towards a light beige. Condition: This work is in very good condition and is hinged to the mount in several places along the top edge. The sheet undulates slightly, most notably along the left edge. Beneath the mount there is a small loss to the sheet along the bottom extreme edge approximately 17cm. in from the lower left corner, only visible when unframed. There is a diagonal scratch approximately 4cm. long to the top left hand corner. There is an unobtrusive scratch to the paper towards the bottom left hand corner. There is a vertical fine line of media accretion towards the top right hand corner. There are further faint specs of media accretion in places along the left edge of the composition and two tiny spots of media accretion below the artist's signature. There is a tiny drying crack towards the centre of the yellow impasto paint and further tiny drying cracks to the white impasto paint in the upper left hand quadrant. There is paint shrinkage to the navy paint.
