Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly richer and deeper, with the lilac tending towards a purple hue, and the green more to forest green in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to fully convey the rich variation in tone present in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. The sheet is hinged to the mount at all four corners. The top edge of the sheet is serrated, original to the artist's choice of media, and the sheet is very slightly undulated. There is a small (2cm approx) paper loss at the centre of the top edge. There is a tiny pale pinhead-sized media accretion just above the centre of the the lower extreme edge. On close examination there are three short, light creases: one to the extreme lower right corner and two to the unpainted sheet at the centre of the top edge. A few isolated tiny cracks are visible on close inspection to some of the thicker spots of violet paint throughout. There are two tiny spots of very light paper skinning: one to the top right corner and a tiny light speck to the purple pigment at centre-right on the upper extreme edge.
