  • 50cm, 19 11/16 in.
la majestueuse figure de Shyama Tara avec une expression sereine de bonté, assise en lalisatana sur un haut trône de lotus, son pied droit soutenu par une fleur de lotus émergeant de la base, elle porte une parure de bodhisattva incrustée de pierres semi-précieuses, un foulard autour de ses épaules et un sari attaché autour de son buste nu; sa longue robe finement ciselée à l'ourlet d'une bordure de fleurs et soutenue par une attelle incrustée de pierreries, sa main droite en varada mudra, le geste de la charité, et sa gauche en vitarka mudra, pour l'argumentaire, chacune tenant la tige d'une grande fleur détachable ornant ses épaules de part et d'autre, une représentation de son parent Amithaba émergent de sa haute coiffure.



The finely cast and gilded figure of Shyama Tara seated elegantly in lalitasana on a tall lotus throne, her right foot supported by a flower emerging from the lower rim of the pedestal, the Green Tara adorned with bodhisattva jewelry inset with semi-precious stones, with a scarf over her shoulders and a sash tied across her naked upper torso, wearing a long skirt with finely engraved floral-patterned borders and fastened by a jeweled girdle, her right hand in varada mudra, the gesture of charity, her left in vitarka mudra conveying argumentation, with both holding the stems of separately cast flowers blossoming at the shoulders, the head of her parent Buddha Amitabha emerging from her tall coiffure.

Condition

Generally very good condition. Some rubbing to the gilding of the right and left forearm, thigh and to the left foot. There is light rubbing of the gilding to the face and circular ares (irregularities) to the gilding on the right of the face (showing in the illustration in the catalogue). There is areas of rubbing to the lower back side of the base and to the lower front left area. There is also some rubbing to the gilding of the lotus petals. There are some semi-precious stones missing to the body jewellery.
