Description

carved from elephant ivory (loxodonta africana), the female figure standing on parted legs with short arms held from the body, surmounted by an oval head with flat facial plane; exceptionally fine gold brown patina with encrustation and traces of pigment.

Condition

excellent condition overall; small hole on top of head (probably root channel); small holes in feet for mount; exceptionally fine gold brown patina with encrustation and traces of pigment.
