In generally very good overall condition. The figure retains much of its original color and patina notably to her costume and to the tinting of her hair and shading of her eyes. There are fine cracks to the ivory as expected which are largely concentrated around her shoulders and neck. The surfaces appear to be in original and untouched condition and would benefit from a light cleaning. The present lot is lacking its dangling earings and all that is evident are a small post on each ear which do not detract from the overall composition. The base has some edge roughness and minor chips as expected. The figure's base has an embedded foundry disk for Les Neveux de J. Lehmann the known editor of this model. The pedestal is of the same period as the statue and many of its bronze elements are stamped 108 1and MADE IN FRANCE. The pedestal also has some edge roughness and minor chips from age and use. By family tradition the figure was acquired with this pedestal at public auction in Chicago in the early 1950s.
