composé de plusieurs chaînons entrelacés, une extrémité se terminant en pointe, l'autre formée de plusieurs tubes creux assemblés par un nœud métallique.
Insignes royaux, ces bâtons métalliques étaient destinés à recevoir à leur sommet les tiges d'une plante appelée omusinga (Hibiscus fuscus). Ces insignes avaient fonction de chasse-mouches rituels : "il y avait aussi de grands chasse-mouches en fer, dont les poignées étaient d'admirables specimens de l'art indigène" (Stanley, 1876, in Ginzberg, 2000 : 204).

Good condition overall. Wear consistent with age and use within the culture. Usual oxidation of the iron, as evidenced by the catalogue illustration.
