Catalogue Note
Alexander Shirley Montgomery of Ballykeel, Dromore, County Down was the eldest son of the Rev. Thomas Montgomery and his wife, Emily Dorothy. In 1869 he married Thomasina, daughter of the Very Rev. Frederick Owen, Dean of Leighlin. His sister, Angela Theresa, married Edward Smith.
