Condition

"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The oak panel is cradled. There are two repaired horizontal joins, restored. The restoration along the bottom join has discoloured. There is also a restored split along the bottom of the panel. Wood grain is visible in the upper part of the sky where the paint layer is thin and the ground shows through. There is some restoration here which has discoloured. There is some restoration to the pale cloud to reduce the impact of the yellow ground colour."
