Catalogue Note

The premiere of Dvorák's Stabat Mater took place in Prague on 23 December 1880. In the autumn of 1884, Dvorák conducted the work at the Three Choirs Festival in Worcester, the solo parts being sung by Emma Albani, Janet Patey, Edward Lloyd and Charles Santley.
