Description

  • 1970
Of hinged coil design, with scales decorated with black and burgundy enamel, the serpent's head set with brilliant-cut diamonds and eyes with pear-shaped rubies, mounted in 18 karat yellow gold, flexible fittings.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the small diamonds are probably of I to J colours, SI clarity. Two pear-shaped rubies are of medium dark, slightly purplish red colour, eye clean. Flexible hinges, spring to fit different wrist size. Condition: There are chips to two scales along the snake body where facing opposite side of the head and not noticeable when worn. Otherwise, the enamel paint is in good condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
