Large, bold signature on a slip of paper (2 7/8 x 7 1/4 in.; 74 x 184 mm), affixed to a slightly larger mounting sheet and with two later red wax seals of a wild turkey and with a one-cent U.S. postage stamp bearing his portrait. Matted, framed, and glazed.



Accompanied by: an autograph letter signed by Lucy Audubon, 1 page (9 3/4 x 7 3/4 in.; 246 x 192 mm), Shippingport, 16 March 1821, to Doctor Drake at Cincinnati, requesting that Drake provide the monies agreed to (Drake was the founder of the Western Museum of Cincinnati College, which hired Audubon as a taxidermist), with integral address leaf; some creases and repairs. Matted, framed, and glazed.
