The underwater scene depicting a carved opal fish beside a carved coral branch, decorated with tendrils of gold seaweed studded with round tsavorite garnets, freshwater pearls and round diamonds, mounted in 18 karat gold, signed Seaman Schepps, numbered P12111.  

Condition

The opal is in good condition, no obvious signs of crazing, and the pearls are a lustrous shade of creamy white. The diamonds are approximately H-I color and VS-SI clarity, and the tsavorite garnets are medium to deep green. In good condition and signed Seaman Schepps, also stamped with trademark (shell) and numbered P12111 on the reverse of the brooch. The eye is set with a single round-cut sapphire.
