Description

The oval pink sapphire weighing 16.91 carats, set as the swing center of a pendant of conforming shape surmounted by a bow, set throughout with old European-cut and single-cut diamonds, mounted in platinum and gold, supported on a platinum chain set at intervals with 10 marquise-shaped diamonds flanked by old European-cut diamonds, the total diamond weight approximately 4.50 carats, length 19 inches.

Condition

See AGL report stating the sapphire is of Ceylon origin, no evidence of heat treatment and insignificant organic (oil type) treatment. The sapphire is a vibrant shade of medium slightly purplish pink color and is slightly included. Abrasions to the facet junctions and a couple of surface-reaching inclusions. The diamonds are approximately I-J color and VS-I clarity. In good condition overall.
