rectangular with cut corners, decorated in English taste, the lid painted en grisaille on a pink ground with two nymphs prodding a sleeping Cupid, within a blue baisse taille ribbon and palm fronds, the ground finely reeded and scattered with dot clusters within a baisse taille scroll and white line border, the sides decorated with flowerheads and swags, the base with an urn

Excellent condition, with a small number of tiny, barely perceptible enamel losses, and minor surface scratches.
