Description

The dragonfly mounted en tremblant, the wings of green plique-à-jour enamel, the body set with an oval sapphire and rose-cut diamonds, mounted in gold, Russian assay marks for St. Petersburg; the earring pendants designed as whiplash scrolls applied with shaded green translucent enamel, set with 4 baroque pearls and old European-cut and rose-cut diamonds, mounted in 18 karat gold, maker's mark and French assay marks, supported on freshwater pearl and diamond tops, tops not original and later added.

Important Works of Art and Jewelry from the Collection of Lillian Nassau, Ltd., Sotheby's New York, June 5, 1996, lot 31 (the Art Nouveau earclips before modification).

Condition

Please note: the freshwater pearl and diamond stud tops of the earrings are later added, however the pendants supported by them are Antique, French, circa 1900; overall condition of the earrings is very good. The dragonfly condition is overall also very good.
