Description

Comprising a brooch and a pair of girandole earrings, set with cushion-shaped and pear-shaped topazes and cushion-shaped pastes in closed-back mountings of silver, drops on brooch and earclips are detachable, one drop missing on brooch, earrings with later-added screw-back fittings. With fitted gilt-embossed leather case.

Condition

One pendant drop is missing from brooch as stated in the description. All the drops on the brooch and earclips are detachable. In addition, the entire pendant detaches from the earclip top by means of later-added pendant hooks and there are modern screw-backs on the reverse. The RIs (refractive indexes) obtained on the larger colored stones were consistent with topaz with one of the pear-shaped examples on the brooch presenting an RI more consistent with citrine. RIs could not be obtained on the rose-cuts.
