Japy Frères countwheel bell striking anchor movement, gilt hands, 9-cm silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and spoke centre forming the wheel of a chariot with lion mask front pulled by two lively horses, surmounted by a charioteer being shielded by Minerva, Siena marble base with fasces corners, garland and eagle mounts to the front raised on fluted feet
Condition
chapter ring a little rubbed, hands replaced, dialplate with three unidentied holes possibly of another dial, probably associated movement able to function but very dirty, complete but in need of a good overhaul, case in good condition, regilt and repatinated, spear and corners axes restored, together with a pendulum
