Literature

Cf: Cartier, 1900-1939, Judy Rudoe, British Museum Press, 1997, plate 246, page 303, for an illustration of the watercolour design for the above lot.

Condition

Signed Cartier to side of loop, indistinctly numbered 280. Diamonds bright and lively. Onyx beads with very small scratches and pits. Pearls gently graduated in size, well matched in colour, several with rosé overtones. Loop scratched and rubbed, a little misshapen, consistent with age and wear. Very supple bracelet, clasp articulated at each end. Evidence of repair and traces of glue to seed pearl connections near the loop end of the bracelet.
