with vignettes, some coloured, in gilt blue morocco by Riviere, two double-fillet outer borders infilled with green morocco, two double-fillet frames infilled with black morocco, the compartments elaborately tooled with gilt leaves, dots and carnations with red morocco onlays, one compartment with gilt cross-hatch design, around a large oval inset centrepiece with thick onlays on each cover, the upper cover with a rose bush with red roses and a bird, the lower cover with purple irises and a butterfly, both with solid gilt background, spine in six compartments five with green morocco onlays and a similar floral design, the sixth with gilt lettering, inside dentelles gilt with floral design and onlaid green and red morocco, green silk paste-down and endpapers, gilt edges, in a bespoke box, cover of box detached, front silk endpaper partially detached from backing
