Condition
Colours: The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the overall tonality is warmer and richer in the original. There is more pink to the fleshtones and the red of the red and white flag is much more vibrant in the original. The grey text is black in the original.
Condition: This work is in very good condition. The canvas is slightly slack overall and there are a few very light creases to the lower centre of the left edge. There are three very small spots of media accretion towards the bottom right corner and a small spot to the right hand edge towards the top corner. There are faint handling marks and minor wear in places along the extreme corners of the composition. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
