Condition

Colours: The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the overall tonality is deeper in particular to the blacks in the original. Condition: The work is in good condition. All four edges are slightly uneven and brown framing tape has been applied in a very thin margin to each edge. In some places this brown tape has been removed. There is light paper discolouration to the extreme edges of the sheet, in particular a margin to the lower left corner of the bottom extreme edge. There are light rubmarks in places around the extreme edges of the work. The top left and bottom left extreme corner tips are bending inwards and there two minute and unobtrusive holes which do not perforate the canvas backing, possibly caused by a staple. There is some light undulation to the sheet throughout, notably to the centre of the composition where the two black shapes meet. There are two small light crease lines to the right hand vertical section. There are three further small light crease lines to the left of the upper part of the left hand black shape. A small number of pale pinhead-sized isolated foxmarks are scattered to the white areas of the sheet. There are a few minute unobstrusive pinhead-sized media accretions to the black paint, and a very small chip to the paint surface to the left hand black shape.
