Condition

Colours: The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the overall tonality is deeper and richer,with the paper tone tending more towards ivory cream in the original. Condition: This work is in good condition. The sheet is time-stained, with discolouration notably to the extreme edges. There are artists's pinholes to all four corners and each corner is slightly rubbed. There are scattered pale brown spots of discolouration and foxmarks throughout the work (visible in the catalogue illustration). There is a short stable vertical tear to the lower right corner.There is minor paper skinning in places to the left and right overturn sides, where brown framing tape has been removed. A few residual pieces of tape remaining. There are several faint media accretions and surface dirt in places to each overturn side, and a few minor scattered media accretions and pigment staining to the composition.
