  • A Roman Terracotta Group of Eros-Harpocrates and Psyche
  • Height 12 in. 30.5 in.
embracing on a rectangular profiled plinth with claw feet, their shared mantle billowing behind them, Psyche wearing anklets, snake thighlet, bracelets, and stephane, Eros-Harpocrates holding a torch cradled in his left arm and wearing anklets, thighlet, bracelets, and the crown of Upper and Lower Egypt with moon crescent; remains of gesso.

Condition

base repaired from several large fragments with minor restorations along breaklines, one foot of base and part of front of upper edge of base restored in painted plaster, wing of Psyche reattached, otherwise very good
