35.5-cm brass dial with foliate engraved centre, engraved silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, foliate pierced hands apertures for date, day and month, subsidiaries for strike/silent, play/ not play and tune selection in the arch, foliate pierced gilt spandrels, silvered plaque bearing the signature Gerrit Bramer Amsterda, substantial movement with anchor escapement and trip repeating rack Dutch half hour striking on alternating bells, 20.5-cm cylinder playing one of twelve melodies with 25 hammers on 13 bells, attractive burr walnut veneered case with bell top surmounted by a giltwood atlas and two angels, break arch moulded cornice with a well carved ornament over pierced frets to the front and sides, concave corners with full brass capped columns flanking the glazed break arch door, trunk with carving over the canted corners, long shaped door with inlaid banding, curbed knees over the canted corners to the moulded base with similar inlaid banding and a shell ornament, raised on replaced brass claw feet
