Catalogue Note

the first edition of one of the most celebrated books in early modern english literature. Burton's Anatomy has been regarded as one of the most curious and most fascinating books ever written. It was, among other things, the only book that ever induced Dr Johnson to get out of bed two hours earlier than he had intended.
