Commemorative Document

John F. Kennedy, we all felt we knew him.  Consisting of 14 lines of free verse, evidently intended to accompany a reproduction of Bernard Fuch's portrait of President Kennedy issued by the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company as part of its institutional series of Great American Leaders.  The document reads, in part: "He was the young man who loved the solitude of the windswept coasts of his native New England. ...he was the young President we all felt we knew so well."
