CATALOGUE NOTE

Howard A. Schumacher was the president of Speed Graphic Camera Company. Weegee, as well as a legion of press photographers, favored Speed Graphics for their work. Schumacher assigned Weegee to photograph various destinations in the United States, and when his work was completed, Weegee presented Schumacher with 8 mounted prints, which he inscribed 'To HOD,' Schumacher's nickname.
