Attributed to Hans Christoph Stimmer 1549 - after 1577 Schaffhausen

Hans Christian Stimmer, the brother of Tobias, is known only as a maker of woodcut blocks (formschneider).  Although his drawing style remains undefined, the present drawing must originate from the orbit of his illustrious brother, and so the traditional attribution should certainly be taken seriously.  The monogram, surrounded by the date, may be a collector's inscription rather than a signature.
