Catalogue Note

Franco Cannilla (1911-1984) was a well-known Italian artist who included jewelry design in his repertoire.  His first exhibition of gold jewelry was held under the patronage of Mario Masenza in Milan in 1949.  The sculptural gold work in the present suite reveals his talent for enhancing jewelry with miniature works of art.
