SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND BROOCH/PENDANT, CIRCA 1900

The open work brooch set at the centre with an oval sapphire weighing 4.44 carats within surrounds of floral and foliate scroll motifs set with rose- and circular-cut diamonds.

Accompanied by a report from the Precious Stone Laboratory, no. 978329, stating that the sapphire was found to be of Sri Lankan origin and that no evidence of heat treatment was detected.
