Catalogue Note

Seascapes have been a recurring theme in Sabavala's paintings and birds and sailing boats are central to this theme. In the works of the 1960's the intersecting forms of birds in flight appear in different guises, but his paintings are concerned with nature, the elements and the cosmos.
