Catalogue Note
Born in 1845 in Paris, Albert Dubois-Pillet was a self-taught painter who pursued a career as a policer officer alongside his artistic activities. A friend of Seurat and Signac, he was one of the founding members of the Salon des Indépendants in 1884.
