  • A Cotswold School walnut and chequer inlaid wardrobe
  • 193cm. high by 127cm. wide by 61cm. deep;
  • 6ft. 4in., 4ft. 2in., 2ft.
in four sections, with fielded panels and exposed dove-tailing, the cupboard doors enclosing a conformingly inlaid interior with hanging space, sliding shelves and two drawers with compartments, the lower section with an apron drawer, on a plinth base

Catalogue Note

The present lot was designed by Sidney Barnsley for his friend the architect Robert Weir Schultz. It forms part of a body of furniture he designed for his house in Hartley Witney, Hampshire. Schultz's various architectural projects were often occasion for collaboration with Barnsley as well as Ernest Gimson.
