34-cm engraved silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals signed Henricus van Vlijmen Amsteldam, pierced hands and alarm disc, subsidiary seconds and apertures for date, day, month and moonphase with tide, polychrome painted theatrical opening flanked by Neptune and Mercury revealing the automaton of ships sailing on a choppy sea with connection to the movement with anchor escapement, trip repeating Dutch rack quarter striking on two bells, alarm on a single bell, burr walnut case surmounted by a gilt wood atlas and two angels, shaped top, moulded cornice with carved ornament over pierced front and side frets, break arch door with brass capped pilasters, canted trunk, long shaped door with foliate and chequered inlaid banding, basket lenticle bombé base with further foliate and chequered inlaid banding on ball and claw feet
