18k, gilt  movement engraved with the ram of Schaffhausen, lever escapement with one-minute tourbillon, 76 jewels, mono-metallic compensation balance, adjusted to heat, cold and 6 positions, silvered matte dial, roman numerals, blued steel hands, sunk guilloché subsidiary dials for 30-minutes register combined with moon phases, date, month combined with 12-hours register and constant seconds combined with day, aperture for year, large and heavy circular case with sloping bezel, case back with engraving and secured with six screws, curved lugs, onyx-set crown, minute repeater activated by a slide in the band, split-seconds chronograph mechanism operated by crown and two rectangular buttons in the band, sapphire crystals, case, dial and movement signed, with pink gold IWC deployant clasp.

Accompanied by an original fitted wood presentation box with an inlaid scene of Schaffhausen, certificate and an operation manual.

The 'Destriero' was made in a limited edition of only 125 examples to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of IWC in Schaffhausen in 1993. This watch, containing 750 individually manufactured and hand-finished mechanical parts for its complex functions and displays, is the most complicated wristwatch ever manufactured.
