30.5-cm square brass dial, engraved chapter ring with Roman numerals signed Johannes Helot Amsterdam, later brass hands and subsidiary seconds, aperture for date and lever for strike/silent above XII, ring turned winding holes and cherub spandrels, month-going movement with six ring turned knopped pillars, anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell, pull quarter repeat removed, fruitwood and walnut veneered case with seaweed marquetry throughout, dome top surmounted by an urn finial, square door with spiralled columns, rectangular trunk, long door with oval lenticle, rectangular moulded plinth raised on bun feet, restorations
