A HANDEL REVERSE PAINTED GLASS AND PATINATED METAL TABLE LAMP, CIRCA 1915

with an acid-etched shade reverse-painted with a moonlit tropical scene with a distant ship, on an unusual figural base in the form of a female water bearer.  The shade signed 6971 HANDEL with indistinct painters initials possibly those of John Bailey who painted many examples of this genre for Handel, with factory interlocking shade rim impressed HANDEL Lamps PAT'D. NO/ 979664, and the base impressed Handel
