Circle of David Teniers the Younger Antwerp 1610 - 1690 Brussels

The present work is based on Teniers' own Self Portrait as an artist seated in his atelier dated 1635 in a private collection (see M.Klinge, David Teniers de Jonge. Schilderijen, Tekeningen, (exhibition catalogue), Antwerp, Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten, 1991, no. 11). The present work is accompanied by a certificate from Gustav Glueck dated 1933 in which he states this is a work by the hand of David Teniers, II.
