engraved brass dial, silvered chapterring with Roman numerals, foliate pierced steel hands, silvered alarm disc and scrolled signature plate W. Van Dadelbeek Ao 1739, subsidiary seconds,date aperture and moonphase in the arch with silvered and engraved surround, four pillar movement with anchor escapement and Dutch half hour rack striking on two bells, alarm on a bell, burr walnut veneered case with foliate marquetry inlay, bell top hood topped by a giltwood atlas and two angels, restored front and side frets, three quarter side columns in the hood, long shaped door with marquetry inlay of a flower urn and basket, the base with canted corners with a marquetry panel of a flower basket raised on later ball feet, marquetry probably of later date

Willem van Dadelbeek was born in 1707 in Utrecht and must have started working as a clockmaker around 1733. He is recorded as clockmaker in 1747, having his workshop in the 'Schoutensteeg'.
