foliate engraved silvered dial, chapterring with Roman numerals, inner date Arabic numerals, steel hands, subsidiaries for rise/fall and strike/silent in the arch with signature plate Lau. Dalgleish Edin.r, rococo spandrels, five pillar two train fusee and chain movement with finely engraved backplate depicting birds, anchor escapement, rack hour striking on a bell, ebonised case with bell top, flambeau finials, female bust and trailing flower mounts on canted corners, pierced brass side frets, moulded base raised on scroll feet

Laurence Dalgleish was a member of the Clock makers Company and is recorded working in Edinburgh between 1771 and 1821.
