Our March auction highlights the very best of Bordeaux, stretching from the illustrious 1945 vintage and taking in a wealth of First Growths, Super Seconds and the best of Right Bank wines from the finest vintages. Magnums of château-authenticated Mouton Rothschild 1945, Petrus 1947 and Cheval Blanc 1947 open the sale in style, followed by a pristine assortment of highly sought-after Duclot cases spanning a variety of vintages from 2000 to 2008.
A selection from a highly respected collector yields ultra-rare Imperials of First Growths and Petrus from the fabled 1982 vintage. Further stocks, including a magnum of Le Pin 2000 from the Secret Grotto single owner sale in January are enticingly offered. Elsewhere, châteaux such as Lynch Bages, Pichon Baron and Montrose, almost all of which was bought directly on release, will be an inducement for any Bordeaux collector.
A star-studded collection of Burgundy, including DRC Romanée Conti and La Tâche 2000 acquired directly from the domaines is a tempting invitation for discerning collectors, as well as a range of Rousseau from the 1990s and 2000s. Other Burgundy highlights include Musigny from J-F Mugnier, Clos des Lambrays and white Burgundy from Domaines Olivier Leflaive and Blain-Gagnard.
Italian wines are represented by offerings from Gaja, Biondi-Santi, Sassicaia and Ornellaia, amongst others. Bollinger RD, Krug and Louis Roederer make up some of the Champagne high points and a bottle of Dow’s 1945 will be a draw for Port aficionados.
Finally, a lure for Whisky lovers will be four bottles of rare Macallan vintages: 1956, 1957, 1960 and 1962.
