Overview

Luxe: The Art of the Table features English, European and American silver from the seventeenth to the twentieth century alongside European and English ceramics and nineteenth century French furniture and decorative arts. In the catalog, the objects have been beautifully presented in styled vignettes by the fine-art photographer Paulette Tavormina, whose imagery is inspired by Old Master still-life paintings. Her photography of the offered objects evokes the decadence of their past lives, while highlighting the luxury of material and craftsmanship, and shows them as the pieces of art they truly are. Opening April 21st, the preview allows visitors to view these objects in person and reimagine them in their own 21st century homes.
