Overview

INAUGURAL HISTORY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY SALE

Following the tremendous, record-making successes of this July’s Space Exploration sale, we are thrilled to announce our inaugural History of Science & Technology sale, which will take place on 12 December 2017 in New York. The sale will include books, manuscripts, scientific & technological instruments and other artifacts, spanning from the 16th–20th centuries in categories ranging from physics, mathematics, cryptography and computing, to medicine, astronomy and space exploration.

Our specialists have unparalleled expertise in the field, and hold numerous auction records, making them the market leaders in this category. Recent examples include the bag used by Neil Armstrong to bring back the first samples of the moon ever collected, which sold for $1,812,500; the original Apple Computer Contract & Dissolution of Contract, signed by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, & Ronald Wayne, which sold for $1,594,500; and the Presentation copy of Isaac Newton’s Opticks, given by Newton to his patron, the astronomer Edmund Halley (discoverer of Halley’s Comet), which sold for $1,333,000. Our years of experience, scholarly expertise, innovative sales strategies, and privileged relationships with the world’s top collectors & institutions combine to allow our team to deliver the strongest results.
