RESULTS
Sotheby’s first London Watch Sales in over 4 years achieved fantastic results. The strength of the collection was paralleled only by the strength of the market, seeing the sale achieve a staggering £2,491,876, almost double the low estimate.
Sir Winston Churchill’s ‘Victory’ watch took centre stage, quadrupling its high estimate and finally selling for £485,000, a world record result, testament to this exquisite piece of horology and its historical significance. Setting the standard, the Victory watch was accompanied by other fantastic results. Particular highlights include a series of Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, all of which doubled their high estimate, a Patek Philippe ref. 1463 and a Vacheron Constantin minute repeater each realising £125,000.
