A leading technology entrepreneur, Mr. Clark is widely recognized as one of the earliest computer scientists of the internet age as well as a prominent philanthropist and collector. The sale included the greatest collection of Italian and Rhône wines ever offered by Sotheby’s which were keenly sought by many of the world’s greatest collectors.
On 15 November 2014 Sotheby’s New York will present a selection of wines from leading Californian technology entrepreneur and philanthropist James H. Clark. The highlights include a selection of Italian and Rhône wines from the most prestigious producers: Gaja, Giacosa, Conterno, Guigal, and Chave, which represent the greatest collection of wines from these areas ever offered by Sotheby’s Wine.
