AUCTION DETAILS
The collection began as a single purchase. One alluring linoleum cut of a woman’s head from 1962, Grande Tête de Femme, initiated an intense exploration of Pablo Picasso’s oeuvre. The challenge of building an expansive yet focused collection of the artist’s work was met with a tremendous appetite and energy befitting Picasso himself. Sotheby’s is privileged to be entrusted with the sale of this important collection, assembled by a connoisseur who has concentrated so discerningly on shaping this study of one artist’s considerable contributions to every medium he endeavored.
