Sotheby's December 11th Masterworks auction achieved 1,185,000 USD. Highlighting the sale was a pair of George III satinwood, harewood and mahogany marquetry commodes attributed to Mayhew and Ince, which sold well above its high estimate, for 425,000 USD. Also performing strongly, an important Irish George II mahogany side table sold for 221,000 USD.
