Our Fine Jewels auction showed that the demand for high quality, striking and beautiful jewels remains high. Highlights included an enamel and diamond bracelet by Verger Frères from the 1920s selling for £74,500; a pair of diamond ear clips also from the 1920s selling for £16,250 and a fluorite, ivory and agate love bird carving that achieved £27,500.
We are now inviting consignments for our upcoming sales of Magnificent Jewels in Geneva on 12 November and Fine Jewels in London on 16 December.
Highlights from our forthcoming London sale include an array of jewels from the Art Deco period, where the requirement was for strong dynamic geometric forms to complement the latest fashions of Chanel and Lanvin. Pronounced architectonic designs, exaggerated scrolls drew inspiration from Cubism, Futurism, Expressionism and the arts of Africa and the Far East, all with the emphasis on modernity and speed.
