The sale was led by Thomas Pritchard Rossiter’s and Louis Remy Mignot’s 1784 painting Washington and Lafayette at Mount Vernon, 1784. This piece was estimated at 50,000-70,000 USD and achieved an astounding 305,000 USD. Also performing well was Willard Leroy Metcalf’s A Seaside Pasture, estimated at 100,000-150,000 USD and achieved 269,000 USD. All results are available online or on your iPad.
